Welcome to Searchanise release notes! This time we've got major updates for Shopify and BigCommerce merchants to boost sales and onsite user experience, including advertising banners, new opportunities with option swatches and more.

Add advertising banners to your search results and collection pages

You asked – we listened! We're excited to introduce our new major feature – advertising banners. Use them to promote products or offer special deals on search results and collection pages boosting your sales ever further. You can display banners conditionally, i.e. depending on the search query your customers type in, or show them by default.

Please note that this feature is available only on Game Changer Full subscription plan.

    Display product variant images in swatches

    We've improved color swatches and they can now display product variant images. Your customers can preview available product variants right inside the swatches themselves:

    If you want your customers to instantly get an idea of the variants your products have, you can set up product variants in swatches by following these instructions.

    Show the number of products via "In stock" label

    You can now display how many products are left in stock in the Instant Search Widget (ISW) and the Search Results Widget (SRW):

    If you want to show customers how many products are left, just follow these setup steps to add products' quantity to the ISW and SRW.

    Add filter for out-of-stock products

    Your customers can now filter products that are out-of-stock, not just the ones readily available. This might come in handy if you want to enable customers to discover products that will be available soon.

    The "Out of stock" option for the Availability filter is turned off by default. To enable it, go to the app's control panel, Filters section > General tab. Click the Manage filter link in the filter row and turn on the "Out of stock" option.

    Display option swatches in search results

    We're happy to announce that swatches are now available for BigCommerce too! Add color and size swatches to instantly show your customers available product options:

    Option swatches help to improve user experience on the website: they provide great visual information on available product options and create smoother navigation as customers can choose the product they like faster.

    To add swatches to your website just go to the app control panel and set them up in a few simple steps.

    Fine-tune Best-selling sorting

    Now you have more power over the Best-selling sorting. You can set up the period that Searchanise takes into account when counting sales of bestsellers. By default, Searchanise counts the sales for the last 6 months. Now you can change this period to 1, 2, 3 months and so on. This feature will allow stores with seasonal products to display relevant products higher in bestselling sorting.

    To fine-tune the Best-selling sorting go to the control panel and follow these setup steps.
