We’re thrilled to announce two powerful updates to the Searchanise Search & Filter app for Shopify this April! Both features are designed to make your store even more flexible and aligned with your store’s needs. As always, these updates are based on your valuable feedback.

Show Product Variants as Separate Products (Beta)

Great news for stores offering multiple product variations! With this new feature, you can now display product variants — like different colors or materials — as individual products on both search results and collection pages.

Why It Matters

This gives customers a clearer view of all available options without extra clicks, making it easier to find the perfect variant and purchase faster.

Example: If you sell a chair available in wood and metal, each material will now show as its own product tile, helping customers quickly spot what they want.

💡 Searchanise Tip: Make sure each variant has its own unique image to maximize visibility and customer engagement!

Legacy plans: Advanced & GameChanger

Important: Since this setting affects merchandising rules, please review your existing configurations before enabling it.

Changes in Collection Sorting

We're excited to announce that Searchanise now supports Shopify collection sorting!

Previously, merchants could only manage collection order using Manual collection sorting in the Searchanise control panel. With this update, you now have two streamlined ways to control how products are sorted within collections:

  • Shopify sorting rule: Automatically syncs sorting from your Shopify admin panel.
  • Searchanise sorting rule: Define your own sorting preferences independent of Shopify.

How to Enable?

  1. Go to Searchanise Search & Filter → Filters → Filters on collections → Settings tab
  2. Select between Shopify sorting and Searchanise sorting under Collections sorting

Note: These sorting rules apply to all collections except those using Manual collection sorting, which was available prior to March 25, 2025.
We’re excited to see how you’ll use these updates to optimize your store’s shopping experience. As always, your feedback helps shape the future of Searchanise — keep it coming!
