We're thrilled to announce two major updates to Smart Search and Product Filters by Searchanise that will transform how you understand customer behavior and present your products on BigCommerce.
Introducing Filter Analytics: A Game-Changing Addition to Your Analytics Suite
Now you can see how exactly customers use filters in your store. While you've had access to search analytics, this entirely new capability reveals the complete picture of how shoppers navigate and narrow down their product choices.
Why Filter Analytics Matters
Understanding filter usage unlocks opportunities you couldn't access with search data alone:
Discover true customer preferences: See which product attributes drive purchasing decisions
Optimize your filtering strategy: Remove underused filters and enhance the ones customers depend on
Increase conversions: Shoppers who can efficiently filter to their ideal products are far more likely to buy
Your New Analytics Overview Dashboard
When you open your Analytics section, you'll immediately see your top five most-used filters alongside the five most-selected filter values. This snapshot reveals which filtering criteria matter most to your customers — the tools they consistently rely on when shopping your store. You will find more detailed reports on Filters and Filters values tabs in Analytics.

Dedicated Analytics for Different Page Types
We've organized filter analytics into separate tab, giving you precise insights for each shopping context:
Filter Usage: See every filter customers engaged with on each page type
Selected Values: View the specific options shoppers chose (like "cotton," "medium," or "$25-$50")

Export Your Data
Every data point — individual filters and specific values — can be exported. Take your data offline for presentations, strategic planning, or deeper analysis.
