Re-Indexation by Schedule for BigCommerce: Keep Search Results Fresh Automatically

Smart Search and Product Filters by Searchanise indexes products, categories, orders, pages, and blog posts to keep search results relevant. Products and categories update automatically, but changes like editing a page or blog post, adjusting currency formatting, or updating price list and customer group settings needed a manual re-index to show up in search.

What's New

With this release, you can automate re-indexation instead of triggering it manually after every relevant update. Set a schedule for how often you want your store re-indexed, and Smart Search and Product Filters by Searchanise handles the rest — no need to remember to hit Force re-indexation after editing a page, updating currency formatting, or changing price list and customer group settings. Once configured, the control panel shows the date and time of your next scheduled re-indexation, so you always know when the next update will run.

How to Use It

Go to your Searchanise control panel.
Click the schedule button next to Force re-indexation on the left-hand bar.
In the pop-up, set when you want your data updated, then save.

How to turn in on

You'll see the date and time of your next scheduled re-indexation right in the control panel. To turn it off, open the same pop-up and click Remove.

Best Practices

If you're on BigCommerce Multi-Storefront, keep in mind each storefront runs its own search engine — you'll need to set up the schedule separately for each one.

Since the schedule runs once every 24 hours, time it right after any recurring bulk updates — like a nightly price list sync or customer group refresh — so the re-index picks up the latest data instead of running a few hours too early.

For same-day changes that can't wait for the next scheduled run, Force re-indexation is still there for manual use alongside the schedule.

Scope

Products and categories still update automatically regardless of this schedule — the schedule covers everything else: pages, blog posts, currency formatting, price lists, and customer group settings.
